THERE TO BE – FUTURE WILL

Hey, guys!

Já aprendemos aqui no canal a usar as expressões there is e there are para indicar que algo existe:

There’s a bakery in this neighborhood. l Há uma padaria neste bairro.

There are a couple of parks in the city. l Há dois parques na cidade.

Para indicar um evento ou uma atividade:

There’s a party downstairs. l Há uma festa no andar de baixo.

There’s a special class every week where everybody should ask a question. l Há uma aula especial toda semana onde todos dever fazer uma pergunta.

Para indicar quantidade:

I guess there are 20 students in the classroom. l Eu acho que há/tem 20 alunos na sala de aula.

Hoje vamos falar um pouquinho sobre o futuro, dando continuidade sobre o verbo "haver". 

Para usar essas expressões no futuro, nós temos there will be, que é a forma positiva, e there won’t be, que é a forma negativa.

There will be significa “haverá/existirá”. Observe que a expressão serve tanto para o plural quanto para o singular. Veja os exemplos:

There will be a car waiting for you at the airport. 

Haverá um carro esperando você no aeroporto

 

There will be a delicious cake for me at my birthday.

Haverá um delicioso bolo para o meu aniversário.

 

Next year there will be new teachers.

No ano que vem, haverá novos professores.

 

A forma contraída de there will be na afirmativa é there’ll /del/ be.

 

There’ll be someone in the office.

Haverá alguém no escritório.

 

There’ll be many problems if we don’t do anything.

Haverá muitos problemas se a gente não fizer nada.

 

There will not be anyone in the office.

Não terá ninguém no escritório.

 

E na forma contraída: There won’t (wōnt) be anyone in the office.

 

There won’t be water for you to drink.

Não haverá água para você beber.

 

There won’t be a party on Friday.

Não terá nenhuma festa na sexta.

 

There won’t be many problems.

Não haverá muitos problemas.

 

There won’t be anyone helping.

Não haverá ninguém ajudando.

 

Há uma outra forma de fazer frases negativas:

Ela é formada com o verbo ‘to be’ na afirmativa e a palavra ‘no’.

 

There will be no party on Friday.

Não haverá nenhuma festa na sexta.

 

There will be no people at the meeting.

Não haverá ninguém na reunião.

 

 

A forma interrogativa de ‘there to be’ no futuro se faz colocando o verbo auxiliar ‘will’ na frente de ‘there’.

 

Will there be coffee break in this meeting?

Haverá pausa para café nesta reunião?

 

Will there not be anyone explaining the rules?

Não haverá alguém explicando as regras?

 

Ou

 

Won’t there be anyone explaining the rules?

Não haverá alguém explicando as regras?

 

A palavra ‘any’ em questões é usada com substantivos contáveis e incontáveis.

 

Examples:

 

Will there be any time for a meeting?

Haverá algum tempo para a reunião?

 

Will there be any people at the party?

Haverá alguém na festa?

 

Para dar uma resposta curta, usamos na afirmativa: Yes. There will.

E na negativa: No, there won’t.

 

Will there be a party on Friday? Yes, there will.

Will there be a meeting on Monday? No, there won’t.
