Fale Sobre as suas Férias

Hello tourist!

Amamos viajar e também contar sobre essas experiências vividas para os familiares e amigos. Neste vídeo vamos focar em informações que respondem algumas perguntas típicas quando alguém quer saber sobre as nossas viagens.

As pessoas normalmente têm curiosidade em saber:

1.   How was your vacation? How was your time away? / Se a pessoa sabe para onde você foi: How was your vacation to Alabama? How was your trip to Paris?

2.   Where did you go?

Obs. Did you vira /dja/

3.   Who did you go with?

4.   How long did you stay there?  

5.   What did you do there?

6.   How was the weather? Ou What was the weather like?

7.   How was the food?  

8.   How was the hotel? Ou Where did you stay?

Como perceberam, as perguntas estão construídas no passado. Pois quem pergunta sabe que sua viagem de férias já acabou. Portanto você desenvolverá respostas que falem das suas experiências no passado também. Para conjugar os verbos regulares no passado, você vai só adicionar – ed no final da maioria deles. Eu tenho este vídeo sobre o assunto para você aprender melhor. Mas para os verbos irregulares, a conjugação é diferente, o verbo muda totalmente – buy – bought; take – took; see –saw.

Você também pode consultar o dicionário www.wordreference.com. Assim que você digita o verbo, a primeira informação dada é a conjugação dele no passado e no particípio passado.

Como foram as suas férias: How was your vacation?

Você pode começar com It was + adjective, para deixar a pessoa mais curiosa ainda. It was... (good, amazing, relaxing, great, exciting, thrilling, interesting, fabulous, restful, enjoyable, adventurous, awesome, wonderful, breathtaking, terrific, dazzling, stunning, special, perfect, romantic, exotic, luxurious)

Se as férias não foram tão boas assim, então você usa adjetivos negativos:

It was + adjective (terrible, boring, monotonous, horrible, terrifying, frightful,  tedious, stressful, exhausting).

Se a pessoa não sabe onde você foi, então ela vem com essa pergunta: 2. Where did you go?

I went to ______ (veja que a primeira palavra acaba com som de ‘t’ e a palavra seguinte inicia com o mesmo som, então pronunciamos ‘t’ apenas da palavra ‘to’ fazendo uma união das palavras) “I went to...” e o destino que você foi (I went to Miami) ou I went to the beach; to the country (para o interior). E também podemos dizer: We took a trip to California. (Fizemos uma viagem para...)

My girlfriend and I went to Rome for a long weekend.

I went to Thailand with a group of friends for ten days.

Na verdade, essas duas últimas frases respondem à pergunta:

3. Who did you go with? E outra forma de responder:

I went with _____ (my boyfriend/brother; my wife and a couple of friends).

4. How long did you stay there?

I/we stayed there for (a preposição FOR é usada para informar o tempo de duração desta viagem - We stayed there for a week; for 5 days; for/on the weekend.

5. What did you do there?

Para responder essa pergunta você terá que pensar em várias ações para contar sobre as suas experiências. E essas ações são os verbos. Dê 2 ou 3 exemplos que mais gostou e acha que se destacaram na sua viagem.

We did some sightseeing in (+ nome da cidade). We visited (+ pontos turísticos); We hit the beaches in LA ou We spent a lot of time/two days on the beach; We went shopping at some outlets and we found great bargains.

Outro exemplo para você ter como referência:

    We went on a walking tour of the centre and the Vatican. Mostly, we went to restaurants  and cafés and sampled as much as the local cuisine as we could fit in our stomachs.

6. How was the weather?  ou What was the weather like?

Dá para ser bem breve aqui, use uma ou duas palavras para descrever sobre o clima.

It was... (sunny, bright, cloudy, raining, hot, windy, humid, cold, cool, mild)

It was sunny and warm most days, only on Monday night it was a bit chilly.

7. How was the food?

It was ou The food was spicy, delicious, out of this world. I ate (+ nome dos pratos locais) Bruschetta and a dessert called Zabaglione.

8. How was the hotel? ou Where did you stay?

We stayed at (+ nome do hotel)

We stayed at The Royal Hotel.

E fale um pouco sobre ele...

It was simple, but comfortable. It was a little oldfashioned, but clean.

It was good. The bed and the shower measured up to my expectations and it is located near the most popular attractions.

It was great. The breakfast was amazing and the service was really friendly and helpful.

·         Cute: fofinho, lindinho, gracinha 

·         Gorgeous: deslumbrante 

·         Pricey: caro 

·         Overpriced: caríssimo, de preço exagerado

·         Upmarket: chique, luxuoso, caro

·         Cosmopolitan: place: multicultural  

·         Metropolitan: large city and its surroundings  

Exemplos: 

Venice is the most beautiful city in the world, and the only one that can  truly be described as unique. Each building is a work of art, with their beauty enhanced when reflected on the canals that cross the city. Its magical scenery is fascinating and breathtaking at first sight, evoking the feeling of entering the setting of a real-life fairy tale.

Você terá que identificar as principais características da cidade e comentar – elas poderão ser os pontos turísticos, lugares para fazer compras, a vida noturna da cidade, as praias do local entre outras coisas.

We stayed in a very picturesque mountain scenery. 

Bangkok is a very cosmopolitan place, but it could be a little overwhelming because there was so much going on. Then we went to Krabi, which has some stunning beaches.

It’s a fascinating place, but it’s very touristy, too. The best thing was the food, which was out of this world.
