  Se precisar de direções para chegar ao seu destino, aprenda a fazer essas perguntas:

1) Com licença, como faço para chegar a/ao....?

Excuse me, how can I get to + (local)? "iks-kiuz-mi, rao kenai guét tu + (local)?" 

Excuse me, how can I get to Adams Museum? "iks-kiuz-mi, rao kenai guét tu érãms miuzíãm?" 

Excuse me, how can I get to the train station? "iks-kiuz-mi, rao kenai guét tu dã trein isteishãn?" 

2) Se tiver dificuldades de entender as direções, você tem algumas opções para solucionar este problema: - - Peça para que a pessoa desenhe o mapa com as direções;

- Peça para que a pessoa mostre o caminho no mapa;

- Peça a permissão da pessoa para você gravar as direções que ela te dá.

Could you draw me a map? "kuld iu dró mi ei/a mép?" 

Could you show me on the map? "kuld iu shou mi on dã mép?" 

Can I record/tape your directions? "kenai wricórd/teip iór diwrékshãns?" 

3) Como eu faço para retornar para a estrada?

4) Tem algum ponto de referência?

6) Quantos quarteirões faltam para chegar?

How many blocks from here? "rao mení blóks from rir?" 

7) É muito longe para ir à pé?

Is it too far to walk? "izít tu far tu uólk?" 

8) É possível ir a pé?

Is it possible to walk? "izít pósíbou tu uólk?"

9) Dá para ir à pé?

Is it within walking distance? "izít uidín uólkin distens?" 

Pergunte se há transportes públicos por perto:

10) Is there a subway station near here? "is dér a sãbuei isteishãn nir rir?" 

11)Is there an underground station near here? "is dér anãndergraund isteishãn nir rir?"

12)Is there a train station near here? "is dér a trein isteishãn nir rir?" 

Para dizer metrô em inglês, considere essas opções:

The subway: Usado nos EUA "dã sãbuei"

The Underground, The Tube, The Metro: Usados na Inglaterra. "dã ãndergraund, dã tiub, dã métrou"

Se quiser perguntar como você faz para chegar de um lugar ao outro, pergunte:

Exemplo: Como faço para chegar a estação de metrô desde o Museu Adams?

Se for difícil localizar o nome da rua que você está, pergunte para qualquer pedestre:
