Aula 40: Pedindo direções em inglês - Parte 2

"Vamos viajar o mundo, juntos!"

Uma forma de dar direções em inglês é usando pontos de referência.

Exemplos:

1. Next to: ao lado/próximo "nékstu"
The park is next to the restaurant - (O parque está próximo do restaurante)
"dã park iz nékstu dã wréstowrãnt"

The teddy bear is next to the box

 2. Across from: do outro lado  "acrós from"
The park is across from the supermarket - (O parque fica do outro lado do supermercado)
"dã park iz acrós from dã supermárkit"

The post office is across from the school (O correio fica do outro lado da escola)

 3. On the corner of: Na esquina da (o) "on dã kórnãr av"
The park is on the corner of Raymond Street (St) - (O parque fica na esquina da Rua Raymond)
"dã park iz on dã kórnãr av wreimãnd strit"

A delegacia fica na esquina

4. It's on + (nome da Rua ou Avenida) + (no final adicionamos Street "strit", se for rua ou Avenue "éveniu", se for uma avenida). Fica na Rua/Avenida + nome "its on..."
It's on Raymond Street - (Fica na Rua Raymond) "its on wreimãnd strit"
It's on Main Avenue - (Fica na Avenida Principal) "its on mein éveniu"

Where is the park? - (Onde fica o parque?) "uérs dã park?"

It's on Raymond Street - (Fica na Rua Raymond) "its on wreimãnd strit"

It's next to the supermarket - (Fica próximo ao supermercado) "its nékstu dã supermárkit"

It's across from the supermarket - (Fica do outro lado do supermercado) "its acrós from dã supermárkit"

It's on the corner of Raymond Street - (Fica na esquina da Rua Raymond) "its on dã kórnãr av wreimãnd strit"


5. Between: entre
The park is between the supermarket and the school - (O parque fica entre o supermercado e a escola) "dã park iz bituin dã supermárkit énd dã iskul"

The boy is between the boxes

6. In front of: na frente de "in fronav"
The park is in front of the supermarket - (O parque fica na frente do supermercado) "dã park iz infronóv dã supermárkit"



O garoto está na frente da caixa

7. Behind: atrás "biraind'"
The park is behind the supermarket - (O parque fica atrás do supermercado) "dã park iz biraind dã supermárkit"

Eu estou atrás da geladeira

Se não souber dar direções, diga:
- I'm sorry. I don't know - (Desculpe, eu não sei) "aim sówry. ai don nou"
- Sorry, I'm not from here - (Desculpe, eu não sou daqui) "sówry, aim nót from rir"

Outras direções mais simples:

- It's this way: (É por aqui) "its dãs uei"
- It's that way: (É por lá) "its dét uei"
- It's right there on the corner: (Fica bem ali na esquina) "its wrait dér on dã kórnãr"
- It's across the street: (Fica do outro lado da rua) "its acrós from dã strit"

Se você estiver indo na direção contrária, a pessoa vai te dizer:
- You're going in the opposite direction "iór goin in di ópozit diwrékshãn"

E se você estiver no caminho errado, será:
- You're going the wrong way "iór goin dã wron uei"


Abaixo você confere o vocabulário de expressões para dar direções a alguém ou mesmo para entender as direções que alguém lhe dá.

1. Keep going (Continue indo) "kip goin"
2. On the right (À direita) "on dã wrait"
3. On the left (À esquerda) "on dã léft"
4. Go straight ahead/forward (Siga em frente) "gou istreit aréd/fór-uord"
5. Make a U-turn (Dê a volta/Faça o retorno) "meik a/ei iu-tãrn"
6. Go up the street (Suba a rua) "gou ãp dã strit"
7. Go down the street (Desça a rua) "gou daun dã strit"
8. Follow the signs (Siga as placas de sinalização) "fólou dã sains"
9. Go past (Passe por) "gou pést"
10. Blocks (Quarteirões) "blóks"
11. At the traffic lights (No semáforo) "ét dã tréfik laits"
12. At the intersection (No cruzamento) "ét dã intersékshãn"

13. At the traffic circle/roundabout (Na rotatória) "ét dã tréfik sãrcou/wraunda.baut"
14. Turn right/Make a right (Vire à direita) "tãrn wrait/meik a/ei wrait"
15. Turn left/Make a left (Vire à esquerda) "tãrn léft/meik a/ei léft"
